Aw cute! I'm glad to see you have a little belly going. I was getting depressed at myself wearing some stretchy and maternity things already (i'm 13w tomorrow). I didn't show nearly this early last time!
I guess what they say is true: second-timers are already stretched and ready to go!
Oh, also, I know you love a good birth story as much as I do! Well, a dear friend of mine just gave birth at home (after her last one being a natural birth in a MILITARY hospital, gah!!!). It's really quite interesting, and so amazing at the end! http://benandsusi.blogspot.com/
What do you think about their hypothesis on the baby's positioning with the hands over her head, especially keeping from labor to start???
Sorry, I haven't called you in forever, we've been so SICK!
Thank you for the awesome birth story, Denise! What perseverance and patience!
I absolutely agree that less-than-ideal positioning can hold up labor- part of why pushing pitocin is such a bad idea. Sometimes if we leave mama and baby alone, the issue will correct itself. I've always been a big proponent of chiropractic care during pregnancy, and this story supports how I feel. My current chiro notes that often she is only seen as a "last resort" for mamas with breech or transverse mamas, one last try before the section. What so many people don't realize is that if they used a chiro for maintenance care, their babies might assume and keep a head-down (and perhaps even anterior!) position. But who knows? A good midwife can judge position by palpation/feel, while I know many ob's who need an ultrasound to tell. Maybe if more people recognized what was going on earlier....
I sincerely hope you guys are doing much better!!! I'm so sorry for all the trials you've been going through lately.
